Fresh Year, Fresh Blog

I’m glad that everyone seems to like the new blog layout! If you’re reading this from email or google reader and haven’t seen it yet, check it out!

I wanted to first of all give some props to the lovely Danielle at Two Red Birthstones. Her Etsy shop is full of beautiful and affordable designs, and she did an awesome job for me. The new logo is just what I was looking for.

She also made me a great watermark that I can use for my photos.

The layout isn’t the only change you’ll be seeing around here. I’ve mentioned that I spent some time thinking about where I want to go with this blog in the future. As most of you know, I’m graduating law school this year and will start working as an attorney. I am determined not to give up the blog, no matter how crazy my life gets. This is the only creative outlet that I have, and it’s one that I desperately need to feel balanced. I’ve decided that the solution is going to be including more of a variety of posts. I would love to be able to food journal every single day or do five recipes every week, but it’s just not feasible for me. So in addition to things like Soul Food Sunday and What I Ate Wednesday, I’m going to be mixing it up a little bit. You’ll be seeing things like

  • topical posts on health and cooking
  • posts from Jason and other members of my family (my mom is a professional baker and my dad is a professional photographer so they have some awesome things they could offer!)
  • photo posts
  • occasional fitness posts

Let me know what you guys think of these ideas! I feel good about the future of this little blog.

I’m done with classes for the week and am not working tonight so I’m going to go ENJOY MY FREEDOM!

Thanks for reading!

-Lauren

Reading for the first time from my computer and the new layout is beautiful. It’s looking very professional. I knew your mom was a professional baker but I didn’t know your dad was a photographer! What good influences they must be 🙂
