WIAW: Goodbye For Now

This is my last WIAW from Atlanta! I’m sad to leave because I love the city but I can’t tell you how PUMPED I am to get back to Virginia to finish out the last year of law school. The finish line is so close and it’s like I can FEEL it! So it’s goodbye to Georgia for now, but certainly not forever. Leaving in a couple days!

Breakfast: granola and sliced banana in almond milk

Lunch: cheese steak, tater tots, water

We went to a lunch spot courtesy of Scoutmob that specializes in wings. I wasn’t in the mood for wings so I got a sandwich instead. And tots, which were lemon pepper flavored! I shared them with Ashley and they were amazing.

Our table was full of crazy delicious (and unhealthy) food!

Snack: Odwalla Strawberry protein shake

Dinner: BBQ jerk chicken, coconut rice and peas, fried plantains, roasted okra

I made dinner for the family tonight that was inspired by Jamaica!  BBQ jerk is a family favorite.

I’ve gotten so used to cooking for six, I don’t know how I’m going to adjust when it’s just me and Jason again!

Dessert: thin mint frozen yogurt

If you live near a Publix grocery store, do yourself a favor and run out to buy one of the frozen yogurts in their new store brand line. So far we’ve tried Moose Tracks, Chocolate Mint Cookie, and Espresso Chip…and they are all TO DIE FOR. There’s no Publix in Virginia so I’m gorging myself on this deliciousness while I still can.

I’ve got A LOT going on in these next couple of days before we leave and so I better go get back to work! I’ll catch you up tomorrow.

Thanks for reading!

That will be hard to adjust to making for 2 versus 6… Leftovers! It will be a great excuse to try out all of those “made for two” and single serving recipes! Best wishes.

Sounds like a great day of eats, gotta have balance right! I keep seeing okra pop up on the different blogs and some say it tastes like zucchini. For some reason I find it intimidating but I really want to try it since it seems to have so many fabulous nutritional benefits.
