Crazytown.

I feel a bit like I’m going insane. It’s just one of those times where a million things are going on and there’s NO way to stay calm and you eat too many carbs and traffic seems worse than usual and on top of everything it’s POURING RAIN all day. Crazytown.

Tomorrow I’m taking the MPRE, which is the ethics portion of the dreaded bar exam that every law student has to pass in order to become a lawyer. I’ll be honest and tell you that this will be my second time taking it. I didn’t take studying seriously enough the first time and ended up just missing the point cutoff that I needed. So now I’m retaking it…during the last week of my internship and the day before we pack up our summer lives and head to Virginia. And what does every normal person do when they’re stressed and have a million other things to be doing?

BAKE of course. You guys know that this is my MO. Stress=baking. For me it does. Cramming for a final exam? Cookies! Nervous about a trial? Muffins! Moving away? Candy! That’s me, people. In my defense, Jason has been begging me for this Sweet Monkey Bread since I made it back in January. Remember this?

Yesssss. It was just as good this time. One pan has already disappeared completely.

I made the bread in between taking practice MPRE exams and facepalming at how many questions I got wrong. So much fun.

Then I spent 3 hours doing a 30 minute errand because the rain and traffic were all lined up to make it an especially great day for me. I proceeded to come home and eat more carbs. But I did manage to have a piece of fruit along the way. And take a blurry picture of it.

After doing some packing prep and cleaning up around the house, I did a bit more studying and then heated up some dinner! A combination plate of leftovers (grilled shrimp skewers that I made a few nights ago, grilled corn from that same night, and some broccoli that I sauteed to go along with it). No carbs in dinner because you can trust me when I say that I’ve had PLENTY for today.

Take a wild guess at what I had to drink.

You’re shocked, I know.

Meanwhile, Ashley and Jason have been having all sorts of fun on their own. Observe this scene from the Secret Bike Club that I caught a few minutes ago. If you’re wondering what the Secret Bike Club is, I can’t say any more. The first rule of Bike Club is: don’t talk about Bike Club. (I really hope you get that reference…)

I’m off to study my butt off some more…at least by tomorrow this will all be over!

Thanks for reading!

Now that’s not even fair… I was thinking about cinnamon buns all night and here I come across that delicious looking monkey bun! Not right. I really wish I was someone who enjoyed cooking/baking more. Unfortunately I don’t enjoy either, though I thoroughly enjoy the eating of baked goods :). Nonetheless, I think that may explain my lack of ambition in the baking arena. I think I would gain a million pounds if I ever took it up seriously. I have very little self-control when it comes to yummy baked stuff, esp. when it’s right out of the oven.

Hope the MPRE went well! What cut-off score are you aiming for (since I know most states have different requirements)?
