Looking Back on 2012, and Forward to 2013

(Side note: I’m still planning on doing a monthly favorites video for December! I have a bad flu/cold and am waiting until I’m better to film it. No one wants to see me the way I look now!)

2012 was a year full of great memories. It started out with me making my first trip EVER to our school’s gym. I began making fitness important for the first time in my life.

And at the end of January I celebrated my first blogiversary!

For spring break Jason and I took a little Virginia road trip, spending some time in Charlottesville to eat and visit Monticello, then into the Appalachian for some relaxing at a B&B and some great hiking.

That trip was a highlight of my year. It felt like a second honeymoon!

Later in the spring we went to DC to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and see the sights of our nation’s capitol. I also got to visit the famous Dupont Circle Farmers Market!

Then we trekked down to Atlanta for the summer, where I worked for a non-profit and Jason worked for a prosecutor’s office. That summer we celebrated our 2nd anniversary, and my parents celebrated their 25th!

I also trained for and ran my first 5K. I surprised myself by placing 1st in my age group!

We also took some time at the end of the summer to take my baby brother (who clearly is no longer a baby) on college tours!

Then the semester began and we started our final year of law school. At the beginning of September, we got the chance of a lifetime to see President Obama when he visited Virginia on the campaign trail!!!

We continued on with our tradition of apple picking in the Virginia mountains when fall arrived.

And, oh yeah. We saw the Dalai Lama. Super random. Super awesome.

Then election season really cranked up! We volunteered a little for the Obama campaign, voted (in a swing state, which was awesome), and HE WON!

We also added a new member to the family, our sweet fish Freddy!

Right before the holiday season kicked up, I picked up a part time job to help meet some financial obligations.

And then we finished up the rest of the semester!

So here we are, one semester left in law school, and ready to tackle a BIG year.

Life goals for 2013:

  • graduate!
  • turn 25 without having a quarter-life crisis
  • get a job that sets a good tone for my career

Hmmm. Yes. Looks like I’ve got some work ahead of me. Oh, but that’s not all!

I can’t wait to see the blessings that 2013 will bring.
Thanks for reading!
