The Land of Legos

When I woke up this morning I knew it was going to be a packed day and so I fueled accordingly. First thing: juice. Same delicious combo that I’ve been having (carrots, peaches, ginger, lemon)!

Second thing: old fashioned breakfast.

Mom made some delicious fried eggs, bacon, and blueberry muffins! SO tasty!

After we filled up we got dressed and ran some errands before grabbing a quick lunch and heading to our grand destination!

Legoland!!!

This Legoland Discovery Center opened in Atlanta earlier in the year and it was on Ashley’s bucket list for the summer. Today was the perfect day to go (Jason and I are both off work on Fridays) so we made it a plan. It was just the “kids” today –meaning myself, Jason, Ashley, and David– because my parents were getting some much needed rest (they both work night shifts).

This place was awesome! It’s inside a mall so I assumed it would be tiny but it’s actually huge! Full of rides and other fun stuff.

They had a Lego replica of Atlanta! Complete with all the best landmarks.

There were a couple rides and we were lovin’ all of them.

(Jason and Ashley on the ride)

We totally rode the rides multiple times. We made good use of those tickets.

I’m REALLY not an amusement park or roller coaster person because I frankly don’t find “thrill” rides anything other than terrifying, so a place with little harmless rides like these is perfect for me.

And of course there was some good old fashioned Lego-building.

Jason was HUGELY into Legos as a teenager kid and it was so hilarious to watch him get really into building his own creations right alongside Ashley.

They even had ramps in one section where you can test out you Lego “cars”. It took a few times, but they finally built one that really got some speed! LOVE Ashley’s look of excitement/nervousness in this picture!

There it goes!

We were also repeat customers to the 4D theater, which was completely awesome. David, our future filmmaker, struck a pose with the Lego movie man.

It was a really great trip and I’m so glad we went. This is what summers are for!

Thanks for reading!

-Lauren
