January Foodie Penpal Reveal

It’s that time again for another reveal of the treats I got this month through the Foodie Penpal program! This month my foodie penpal was Tasha from Dine & Dash and she sent me so many awesome things!!! It’s like she read my mind and filled up a box of everything that I wanted to eat!

Just look at this stuff! It was very difficult to wait to dig in until I had taken a picture. 😛 Tasha said in her note that the theme for the box was study snacks, which is obviously just what I need!

I was SO excited to see these almonds from TJ’s. I had seen them over at Lauren’s blog and was so jealous because our TJ’s didn’t have them! It’s like magic that they appeared in this box! 🙂

She also sent some fruit leathers, which I love. I’ve been eating these things since I was a kid!

And lots of other delicious snacks!

Justin’s PB, which I adore! These are both gone now. They lived a very short life after being on top of my oatmeal.

And some See’s Candy lollipops! Now I’m sure Tasha had no way of knowing this but my family is from California (I was born there) and my entire family is completely OBSESSED with See’s Candy!!! We obviously have no way of getting it where we live (except for online ordering) and it’s one of the things we all miss most about Cali! So you can imagine how excited I was when I saw these!

And she included a bottle of her dad’s barbecue sauce! How cool is that?? Can’t wait to use it.

Thank you SO SO much for everything Tasha, I absolutely loved it. And thank you to Lindsay for putting this awesome thing together! Here’s some more info from Lindsay about Foodie Penpals if you’re interested (anyone in the U.S. and now Canada can join!):

-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treatsThe spending limit is $15The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

**The BIG news this month is that we’re going to do a trial run in Canada.  I’m still not exactly sure how it will work with shipping costs and stuff since I’m not sure you guys up North have flat rate shipping boxes, but if you’re willing to give it a try for a month and provide me with some feedback, that would be awesome!

Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

Sound like fun? If you’re interested in participating for February, please send  an email to Lindsay at theleangreenbean@gmail.com and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)
WHETHER YOU ARE A US RESIDENT OR CANADIAN RESIDENT. – this is SUPER important so I can get you on the right list!

Thanks for reading!
-Lauren

Eggnogg almonds? I wonder what they taste like..never been a fan of eggnog 😡 Lauren, if you want See’s lollipops I’ll be happy to send you some. My aunt works for the company packaging chocolates and other goodies for the holiday season every year. It’s February and I still have a ton of See’s candy at home 🙁 haha I think I still have the little pops, assorted lollipops, mint krispys, and pecan truffles?

Oh my god, those eggnog almonds are dangerous. I took them to work so my co-workers would finish them instead of me, but all that happened was that I ended up eating them at work. I used to LOVE those See’s lollipops! Forgot all about those 😛
