All Kinds of Special

Sometimes you just wake up and decide that you’re going to do something special! Today was the day that I decided to let myself live a little and order my first holiday drink of the season at Starbucks. And let’s face it, I’m a law student in a mountainload of debt so it was probably my first and last of the season. Soy gingerbread latté WITH whipped cream, thankyouverymuch.

Today was the day that I realized how incredibly breathtaking the fall leaves are right now, and that they will probably not look like this again until next year!

I also may have had a minute where I wished I was on the Western side of the state again so that I could see views like this one in ALL thier fall glory.

Today was the day that I got over Javier’s passing to the big oven in the sky and gave myself another shot at making artisan bread.

That, my friends, is a baguette. An authentic French baguette made by a young lady who is approximately 1/8th French by blood and 100% French in her authentic love of baguettes. This loaf ain’t so pretty, but it has a good crumb and it tastes like it came from a bakery. Quel bon surprise! I’m addicted. And proud of myself.

Today was the day that my dinner consisted only of 2 baguettes. I wish I was kidding. Kind of.

Thanks for reading!

The Gingerbread is my least favorite holiday drink. Save $5 for the Caramel Brulee! The leaves in Virginia are gorgeous 🙂 I can’t believe you made French baguette. You rock, lady!

I’ve never had a Starbucks drink that I didn’t love (except that London Fog one…) but I can’t remember whether or not I’ve had caramel brulee! Is it new? Putting it on my to-drink list, it sounds delicious.
