Blogmas Day 3: Almond Gingerbread Latté + GIVEAWAY

posted in: Drinks | 16

Today is a happy day! It’s the PREMIER DAY of the Hobbit movie!!! To say that I’m a Tolkien “fan” is an extreme understatement, so I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. After our finals were all over yesterday, we geared up in our finest fan attire to go to the midnight showing!

I snapped some phone pictures and facebooked these from the theater:

We didn’t get home until after 3am, so needles to say that today that I was inspired to have today’s Blogmas recipe be something with caffeine!

On the 3rd day of Blogmas, your true love gives to you…

My new FAVORITE thing to do in the kitchen is make homemade lattés! There’s nothing like a delicious silky layer of foamy milk on top of a hot cup of coffee to make you feel good in the morning (or afternoon! or evening!).

I use almond milk and a mixture of spices to make this delicious drink, which means that it happens to be vegan! The gingerbread flavor is absolutely perfect for the holidays, and this recipe is so simple and easy.

Almond Gingerbread Latte

by Lauren

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Keywords: beverage Christmas winter

Ingredients

  • cup of your favorite coffee
  • 1/4 c. almond milk (or regular milk or cream)
  • 1/4 t. ground ginger
  • 1/4 t. ground cinnamon
  • 2 t. molasses
  • 3 t. brown sugar

Instructions

Brew your cup of coffee and stir in the ginger, cinnamon, molasses, and brown sugar until everything is well combined.

Heat the almond milk and froth to your desired consistency with a milk frother (you can use a blender if you don’t have a frother!). I like to froth mine until it triples in volume.

Gently pour the foamed milk over your coffee. Sprinkle with cinnamon to garnish if desired.
