Happy Earth Day!!!
Happy Earth Day and Good Friday everyone! I seriously love Earth Day. I was reminiscing with my BFF Emily, who blogs over at Georgia Girl in the District, about the fun Earth Days we enjoyed at our school. We both attended the same rather hippie private school in Atlanta, and Earth Day there was a big affair. Planting things, face painting, bubbles, snacks, the works. It was so fun, even in high school!
Jason and I have been comitting to making our house more friendly to our Earth. I’ve most enjoyed finding green cleaners that don’t have those bothersome fumes and scents. I’m still working toward finding the best green products, but here’s a look at the things that we’re lovin right now.
Recycled paper products:
Cleaning products without toxins:
And of course the easy stuff that I’m sure most of you do too, like reusable shopping bags and recycling:
(Woops, can you say out of focus? :P)
Jason and I have a dream of building a house when we get a little older and are starting a family. I really looking forward to decking that house out and making it as green as possible, with things like solar panels and rain barrels to make our lives more sustainable. One day!
I also celebrated Earth Day by having a dirt and worms ice cream sundae!
If you’ve never had one, it’s just crumbled chocolate cookies and gummy worms over ice cream. I used soy ice cream and these cookies:
These cookies are SO good. I originally bought them because they were on sale, but turns out they are even better than Oreos, and they’re organic to boot! This is the second package we’ve bought. And they work perfectly for dirt and worms.
Tomorrow’s the last day of Lent (it depends on how you count, but I consider tomorrow to be the last day)! Cheese, here I come! Our Easter day brunch is going to be FULL of cheese. I can’t wait.
Thanks for reading!
