WIAW: Don't Drink and Drive

We spent all day today at a DUI training thing to teach law enforcement and police officers about making proper arrests, etc. It was actually really interesting and informative, it gave me a whole new appreciation for how much work and annoying rules police have to deal with. Bravo to our police, I don’t think I could do their job. The only bad thing about today was that the training was over an hour to the north of us, so we had to leave the house at 6:30 this morning…BOOOO. And Wednesday of course means that it’s time for

Breakfast: quick oats with soy milk creamer, peanut butter, and homemade carrot cake crumbled on top…SUCH a delicious combo! And a peach on the side that was eaten on the road.

One of the things the blog world has taught me (especially Kath Eats) is that baked goods + oatmeal = the most unexplainable goodness ever.

Lunch: Bojangles fried chicken, biscuit, and green beans

It’s been far too long since I’ve had fried chicken but this was a waste of it…my first time at Bojangles (there was no other restaurant in sight) and it’s not nearly as good as Popeye’s. I may or may not gave gone back for another biscuit, though…

Dinner? Linner? Whole Foods salad with a whole bunch of delicious things in it….most of which I can’t remember.

New york style bagel with hazelnut spread

In case you couldn’t tell, today was a super weird day for eats. But that’s what happens when you eat intuitively, and that’s perfectly fine with me! I’ll likely have another small meal late tonight, but that will just have to remain a mystery. We went to a Whole Foods to the north of us today (on the way home from the course) and it was really nice, definitely nicer and bigger than the one near our house. Not quite as nice as the one in Buckhead (Atlanta’s swankier area), which I literally dream about.

I have some sad news to share with you all.

Javier the sourdough bread starter (June 23-June 29, 2011)

Javier has moved on to that big bread oven in the sky. I tried every trick I could get my hands on to revive him, but it was hopeless. I was sure he was dead today when he had no bubbles, no rising, not even a change in texture or any kind of smell at all. This might not have concerned me much if he hadn’t been so active in the beginning. But his death won’t be in vain! I’m going to use what I learned from him to start a new one. Since the new starters need a lot of attention, I don’t want to start yet because we’re going out of town for the next couple weekends (and Disney World soon!).

Ashley seems to be suffering from some cabin fever, so we’re all going to go for a nice long walk to the park.

Thanks for reading!
