Fresh Orangeade
Happy happy Friday! My favorite day of the week. Yours too, right?
Well as you can imagine, since what I shared with you all yesterday, I have been LOVING using my new camera. I can’t even put its superiority into words, my “old” camera simply cannot compare. The only drawback here is that I pretty much am starting from ground ZERO learning about real digital photography. I spent a lot of today immersed in crazy photography lingo (I might have nightmares about ISO levels and f-stop tonight), and I have not even scratched the surface. SO, please bear with me as I learn because I have no clue what I’m doing. The awesome part? I have a built-in teacher because my dad is a professional photographer. I can’t wait for him to teach me his ways!
So, moving on…this summer has been H-O-T, guys. Not hotter than it’s ever been, but hotter than the past couple summers have been. I don’t mind (I love the heat, I only start complaining when it gets above 100), but it tends to make a gal thirsty.
And when life gives you oranges, you make orangeade.
My mom got this idea from a co-worker (she works for a catering company), and as soon as she started describing it to me I knew I would have to try it out. I mean, we all love lemonade and I’m not quite sure why oranges never get that same kind of love.
They totally deserve it. They are juicy and sweet and make a wonderfully refreshing beverage.
Fresh squeezed orange juice will be best for this but store bought O.J. would be fine if you want to cheat …like I did.
Fresh Orangeade
- 1 1/2 c. fresh orange juice
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. ice
- 3 T. organic sugar
-Stir together the liquids to dissolve the sugar. Add in the ice and stir until the ice is melted (probably won’t take long). Serve cold or over more ice! Feel yourself cool down. Makes 4 nice drinks.
And a surprise…
Jason took this picture!!! And the first one in this post. Yeah, yeah…he’s pretty good but there’s no way I’m handing the camera over! No way. He can use the old one. ๐
Thanks for reading!
