Small Town Christmas

Jason’s hometown is such a charming place! We had some free time this afternoon and the weather was warm so we decided to walk around the downtown area and enjoy the sights.

We started to get hungry so we stopped at a little Mexican place that I don’t think we’ve eaten at for at least a few years! They were having $5 lunch specials, which is music to our law student ears.

They brought out chips and salsa to start with, and for my lunch I had a California burrito which had black beans, guacamole, spanish rice, and cheese inside. The portions were huge for only being 5 bucks!

After lunch we walked around a bit more and then we passed a little gelato place that we just couldn’t pass up.

I always get so overwhelmed at ice cream shops because there’s so many options and there’s never a flavor that doesn’t sound delicious to me.

I had it narrowed down to a few flavors (like tiramisu and cinnamon…mmmm they still sound so good) and finally decided on raspberry sorbetto.

It was sweet and smooth and delicious! Jason ordered a chocolate gelato, which was also delicious but incredibly rich. He couldn’t eat the whole thing and took most of it to-go!

There’s just something about small towns that is so cozy and nice! I am not a city girl, and never have been. I’d much rather spend my days in a safe and happy small community that has everything I need.

I’m off to get ready for dinner! Jason’s mom made her delicious chicken in wine sauce…mmmm I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Thanks for reading!
