Easter Whirlwind

We’re back in the ‘Burg after a wonderful weekend full of family, fun, and LOTS of food! The drive was a bit exhausting but of course it was very worth it. Jason (who’s Italian) has a family who really knows how to celebrate. I love their family parties! I met a couple new people, ate until I couldn’t any more, and drank too much of some very delicious muscato. All around it was a fabulous time. 😀

Before guests arrived I helped Jason’s mom set out a delicious spread of appetizers.

My favorite platter would have to be this one, which included some amazing provolone and salami.

There was also plenty of delicious smoked mozzarella and Jason’s mom’s famous roasted red peppers. Those babies melt in your mouth.

And of course some veggies in there too!

A couple hours later we dug into the main event, an amazing spread of Italian food that would leave anybody weak in the knees. Jason’s mom is an incredible cook and this food will never get old! So glad I married into good food. 😉

The menu included eggplant parmesan, chicken with wine sauce, pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe, pasta, meatballs, yams, glazed ham, and more things I can’t even remember!

And then a few hours later we moved on to dessert! The offerings included brownies, cookies, and a couple different kinds of cake. I sampled some of everything, of course. 😉

I think I gained 5 pounds. And I’m totally cool with that.

Thanks for reading!
