Late April VA Produce
Happy Friday! No classes today (my last one of the semester was yesterday) but it was quite a busy and productive day nonetheless. Yoga class to kick my butt?
Check. Pigeon pose is what eventually killed me I think. But in a good way.
Annual batch of strawberry jam?
Check. I’ve actually modified my recipe to have less sugar and this batch came out perfectly! I have six beautiful jars of this goodness:
Cutting the Lawfully Wedded Husband’s hair?
Check. Even though he was glued to the tv and wouldn’t give me a nice pose for a picture. ๐
Beautiful local produce?
Triple check.ย I’m so glad the weather’s getting warmer! It means our CSA share gets even better! It means BERRIES!!!
SO much better than ones in the store shipped from Canada or California or Mexico. These are sweet as candy and so very juicy! I had forgotten what a strawberry is supposed to taste like. We also got some wonderful green veggies: asparagus, lettuce, arugula, and spinach.
The usual dozen free-range eggs:
Shiitake mushrooms (these were delicious in my noodle bowl lunch yesterday!):
And green garlic (which was delicious in our pasta for dinner tonight!):
Since getting back on track, I have a new appreciation for these gorgeous fruits (and veggies :P) of the earth.
Thanks for reading!
