Candied Yams Without the Candy-Dash of Soul

Being raised in the South, I’ve been lucky enough to be surrounded by the joy that is soul food for my whole life. Soul food is a traditional cuisine that originates from African-Americans in rural Southern areas during slavery. It’s the cuisine that defines Southern food and a lot of the comfort food that people continue to love throughout America and the world. While I’m no soul food expert, I love having it any time I can get my hands on it. I also love coming up with recipes of my own that are delicious and healthier than traditional versions. Check out my collection of soul food recipes below! I’m always taking inspiration from southern ingredients and this list is always growing.
