We got the news a couple days ago that Jason’s grandma, after being sick for a long time, has passed away. We’re going to New Jersey tomorrow to be with his family and celebrate her life. I feel incredibly blessed to have known her, even if it wasn’t for enough time. I think that grandmothers have a special place in all our hearts. They’re usually the ones to spoil us the most, pinch our cheeks the most, and give us candy when our parents aren’t looking. It makes me sad that our future children will never have the opportunity to meet their great-grandmothers, who were all beautiful and loving women. But it’s also comforting to think of my Grandma, my Granny, Jason’s Nanna, and now his Grandma all sitting together in heaven, joyful and without pain, watching their families grow. We’ll all be together again one day.
If you’re lucky enough to have a grandma still with you, call her and tell her that you love her!

Lauren, I’m so sorry to hear about Jason’s grandma. I have lost both of my grandmothers and never even got to meet my dad’s mom who I’m told I look like and it makes me so sad that I didn’t get enough time with either of them. Virtual hugs to both of you!

I’m sorry for your loss on Jason’s Grandma. I hope you had a safe trip up to NJ. Thanks for reminding me to keep in touch with my only grandma living right now!
