I’ve been away from the blog the last few days enjoying a visit with my in-laws, but I couldn’t pass up a post today after the meal we just had.
We finally made it to JCT Kitchen, a highly reviewed and widely loved restaurant here in Atlanta that serves New Southern cuisine.
All I can say is that this place is heaven. It’s everything I ever wanted in a restaurant, and I can’t believe it took me so long to make it there.
From the decor to the service to the food…you’ll hear no complaints from me. Today they were serving their Sunday Supper, which is a smaller menu served family style. The food was seasonal, fresh, and ridiculously tasty. Even though the menu didn’t have a vegetarian option, when I told our wonderful waiter that I didn’t eat meat he assured me that they could make a wonderful vegetable plate. I was expecting some steamed broccoli covered in cheese or some other typical excuse for vegetarian food that I’ve gotten so used to, but what I got instead was a beautiful medley of flawlessly cooked vegetables and creamy potato dumplings that made me want to start praising Jesus right at the table. Every course of this meal left me saying “This. Is. So. Good.”
My Yankee in-laws were equally impressed by the food and I was thrilled to be able to share the best of modern Southern fare with them.
We’ll be back. Sweet Jesus, we’ll be back.

I’ve never been there either, but have heard tons of great things. I love it when a restaurant is accommodating to different dietary preferences.
