I don’t know if I’m the only one, but the second Jason gets out of bed, I can no longer go back to sleep. Anything else (a train going by, sirens, earthquake, apocalypse…) and I sleep right through it. But for some reason the second he stirs I’m awake for good. Sometimes it’s really annoying (like yesterday when he woke up way too early!) but sometimes he stays asleep and I can sleep in! Today was one of those glorious days. I got up nice and late and went to the garage to check out the coffee table that I spray pained white yesterday. It’s in the garage to get some ventilation before I bring it inside.
I’m re-decorating our living room and decided that a white table would work so much better than black because we already have so much dark furniture. I’m also working on replacing this…
…with these!
As much as I like the painting, the new look is going to be a lot more clean and modern and really bring the room together. I’ll show you how it’s coming along when I hang them up tomorrow!
Jason has the same problem as I do (he wakes up the second I stir) so he soon joined me downstairs. I messed around on my laptop and a few minutes later breakfast was magically made!
It was delicious, especially because I didn’t make it. As you can see, we’re out of fruits (and vegetables…) and desperately need to go grocery shopping. But it was delicious anyways and sustained me through some morning work. I can’t give you the full deets yet, but my parents are opening a small business!!! I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it when things are underway! I volunteered to write their business plan and so Jason and I finished that up this morning.
Before I knew it I was hungry again! Cereal to the rescue. I love my Crispix.
Once I was done “working” I gave my main man a haircut. I’ve actually been cutting Jason’s hair for the past year! It saves us money, saves us from unexpected and unwanted hairstyles, and it’s kinda fun! I learned on Youtube. Seriously. I’ve gotten a lot better over time and I don’t see him stepping into a barber shop any time soon.
After some mindless tv and a chat with my mom on the phone, it was time to start thinking about dinner. I checked the recipe I was using and realized I didn’t have the wine I needed. At least it got me out of the house! And this sale wine is actually tasty for drinking and cooking.
Here I am in dinner action. Wearing my I-didn’t-leave-the-house-today-except-to-get-a-bottle-of-wine outfit. No idea why the picture is stretched weird (I blame you, Jason!).
About an hour later it was dinner time. Artichoke and sun dried tomato stuffed chicken, farroto (aka risotto made of farro), and garlic broccoli.
How do you like my new lighting?? Not too shabby for pictures taken at 9m!
The chicken was really good! Stuffed chicken takes a little more prep time but this recipe was very worth it.
I hope you’re having a relaxing weekend!
