Holy cow…I can’t believe another Wednesday has come and gone. There’s not enough hours in the day! My food/life choices have been VERY strange lately, an interesting mix of very healthy and very unhealthy. Today involved a lot more deep fried food than I care to remember…but also a jucie full of carrots and a long run in the morning. Welcome to my life. I’m workin’ on it.
Breakfast: banana, cinnamon raisin bagel, greek yogurt
Before my run I had half a banana and half a bagel. I love these bagels from TJ’s!
And when I got back from the gym I had the other half of the banana and a Fage yogurt (FULL FAT, baby! Don’t miss out on this one…the full fat greek yogurt is amazingly delicious).
Juice Time: 6 carrots, 2 peaches, chunk of fresh ginger root, slice of lemon
I had to go to a board meeting downtown which was really long and by the time I got home I was STARVING. I read that the nutrients in fresh juice are best absorbed on an empty stomach, so I have them in between meals now. This combo is deeeelicious.
Lunch: delicious, grease-laden mall food
My favorite little lady wanted to go to the mall and “hang out” (like any 9-year-old, naturally) so we spent a couple hours in the afternoon doing just that. This of course worked up an apetite.
We went to a Japanese place in the food court and ordered veggie lo mein, sweet and pungent chicken, teriyaki chicken, and spring rolls. Fried, fried, and more fried. At that point I was feeling glad I had that juice earlier.
(side note: those are both iPhone photos from my crappy iPhone 3G camera, but they look so nice all thanks to a new photo editing app that I’m loving called Camera+! life changing…)
Dinner: fried chicken, candied yams, collard greens, cornbread
The family was in the mood for soul food…errr…okay, I was in the mood for soul food. So I made a nice spread while my dad was out playing tennis with Jason and my little siblings.
It was awesome. It’s been way too long since I’ve made a meal like this!
It’s currently 1:30am. I’m supposedly waking up at 7:30am and won’t get home until 7:30pm. What is the world coming to??? Being a grown-up certainly has its downsides…but of course there are more upsides. Like being able to deep-fry your own food. Or buy carrots in 10 pound bags to make fresh juice. 😀
Thanks for reading!

That was quite the day of eating you had dear. I think meal #3 (or is it 4/5?) looks the best.
I’m seriously queasy just looking at that Chinese food. Oh MSG. you make something so gross taste so wonderful.

It was quite the day indeed. That food was actually MSG free if you can believe it! Still tasted amazing though. Must have been the grease.
