WIAW in the Courtroom

I have spent entirely too much time in court this week, and in the next few days I’m going to be spending even more. Yesterday I had to drive an hour into the boonies to go to traffic court and “check in” with the judge due to that pesky speeding ticket. Tomorrow I’m an attorney in a mock trial that’s a culmination of a two year legal skills program our school requires. The next day I am a defendant in someone else’s mock trial. Being in court can be fun, but there are so many rules and formalities to adhere to that it’s very stressful. With all the trial prep on top of usual classes and meetings, this week has been very strange food-wise and you are about to see evidence of that! I haven’t had much time for snacks or fresh produce, and many of my meals these days are literally shoved into my mouth as quickly as possible as I’m rushing on my way somewhere. Not how I prefer to eat…but hey–I’m grateful that I have food to eat at all! 🙂

Breakfast: bowl of whole grain Cream of Wheat cooked in almond milk and topped with a little raw cane sugar

I’m seriously loving this new Cream of Wheat that I got, I’ve been eating it more often than oatmeal lately!

Lunch (I know, right? Where’s second breakfast? Brunch? Morning Snack? It’s sad when life gets busy and food becomes less frequent) roasted chicken sandwich from school café, water to drink

I was pleasantly surprised, I hardly ever get food at school but that sandwich was actually delicious.

Afternoon Snack: whole wheat toast with peanut butter, fruit leather

Dinner: courtesy of the Trader Joe’s refrigerated section…barbacoa beef enchiladas with rice and beans

Dessert: bowl of CHEX with almond milk…so good

My dad works for a large supermarket chain and so sometimes he gets promotional items to take home. Kellogg’s is always making these adorable vintage-style cereal bowls that my dad gets a ton of–he recently gave me a bunch and I love them all!

I rocked the Tony the Tiger bowl tonight. I used to think Tony was SO awesome when I was a kid! Especially because Frosted Flakes were off limits to me because they have too much sugar. 🙂 You may cause diabetes, Tony, but no one seems to care because that sugar rush makes us all feel GR-R-R-R-EAT!

Thanks for reading!

Cream of Wheat reminds me of my Grandma, she made it for me all the time and it was delicious, I should make it more often!

My grandma made it for me too! 🙂 It’s a great old fashioned breakfast, so tasty and nutritious!

It’s unfortunate that you had to drive so far to check up on a ticket. The mock trial sounds like it will make for an interesting activity after your long training.
