Happy weekend to me! All of the long days during the week are definitely made up by the fact that we have no classes on Fridays. I LOVE having my weekend start on Thursdays. But of course, I still have to go through the day before I can get to the fun stuff. I started this morning as usual, bright and early and reading some cases to prep for class.
I get SO NERVOUS about the possibility of getting called on in class. That’s pretty much the MO of law professors, they believe in the Socratic method hard core so the aim for me is pretty much to survive when they do call on me and have an at least mildly intelligent answer. That requires me to do a lot of review in the mornings! After reading I made Jason and I some breakfast.
Fried egg and a little shredded cheese over whole wheat toast…I got a kiwi and Jason got an orange! I love kiwis but it must really not be kiwi season because this one was just really off tasting. Doing breakfast on the detox started off feeling difficult, but it’s really not that hard anymore. However I will be very happy when I can put a little brown sugar or Nutella in my oatmeal again. Buuuut in not eating sugar the past couple weeks I’ve discovered lots of new things that aren’t sweetened with sugar. Liiiikkkeee…
The iced green tea at Panera! Did you know it’s sweetened with papaya juice instead of sugar? Delicious. We decided to treat ourselves to a celebratory “weekend” lunch today, and I pretty much wanted Panera for the sole reason that they have a cold, sweet drink I can actually have. But even when the detox ends, that iced green tea is still going to be my friend.
Aaand to kick off the early weekend, I made the ultimate lazy girl dinner. It took me five minutes, and has three steps.
Step one: fresh shrimp in a hot pan with a little olive oil
Step two: the juice of a lime
Step three: curry powder
That’s it! Served alongside a salad and a bowl of spiced carrot soup, of course.
And after dinner, as always, some Google Reader with a little CNN on the side. I know, our evenings get a little wild and crazy.
Thought it would be fun to show you what a normal day is like for a change! š
Thanks for reading.

So… in an effort to prove how much CNN i also watch, is that dick chaney on the tv? I debated if he would really be on CNN, but since he’s been on fox ALMOST as much as Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin, I’m sure he’s legitimating some kind of semi-legitimate news (more so than team crazy as previously mentioned). That is all. Enjoy your CNN while I watch the jersey shore.

Yes it is Dick Cheney…John King was interviewing him…they’ve been having him on every once in a while completely randomly to talk about water-boarding. Semi-legitimate news is definitely the word for it! I promptly switched to Grey’s Anatomy when it was time…

I love Panera! I’m with Emily — I was definitely watching JShore last night and not anything even remotely intelligent š Enjoy your day off!

Hi Lauren I was just wondering where you made your header and the food buttons in the right hand side bar. They look fab!

I made the header myself in GIMP(it’s a free photo editing program, you can download it online) and same thing with the buttons on the side. I use Lightroom to edit my food pictures and then I resize, add text, etc in GIMP. Hope that helps!
