So it looks like I lied to you last time when I said it would be my last What I Ate Wednesday from Georgia. We moved our departure to tomorrow, so THIS is really our last one from here. I mean it this time. Anyhow, since last week’s episode of WIAW was so ugly, I made much more of an effort to make my meals attractive for you all! 😀 Oh, the things I do for you…
Side note…yes, this post is very late in the day but that’s because I’m actually posting what I ate WEDNESDAY. That is what this party is called right? I can’t remember the last time I saw a WIAW post that actually contained what the person ate on Wednesday and not Tuesday. Am I the only person who finds this strange?! The answer is obviously yes. It’s ok, I love you all you bloggers very much anyway, and this party is about love after all. I’m going to stay stubborn and stick with literally what I ate Wednesday. Which is today. 😉
Breakfast: Coach’s Oats with hazelnut Silk creamer, fresh strawberries, and a little Nutella on top, greek yogurt with a little bit of honey, my usual cup of English Breakfast tea
Don’t you celebrate Christmas in August too? That little snowman is just too cute, I can’t pass him up.
After we ate and got cleaned up, Jason and I headed out to Sweet Auburn Curb Market downtown. This was one of the last things on my summer bucket list!
Haha, looks like their sign lost a few letters–but that’s what happens when you’re in business so long! This market was built in 1923 and is in the exact geographical center of Atlanta. Bill Clinton used to come here to get sweet potato pie! No joke.
All of the stalls are run by different vendors, so you have everything from meats and produce to a bakery and lunch spots all in this building.
Do you see those beautiful Georgia muscadines??? I LOVE these babies, they’re like grapes but more delicious.
The options for lunch were many…
But we decided on Gridhouse Killer Burgers, a place that I’ve heard good things about online and wanted to try for myself.
Lunch: Beef burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, Grindhouse burger sauce, and fries on the side (Jason got pretty much the same but with onion rings on the side)
Everything was fresh and awesome. Jason’s onion rings were out of this world.
The hubs really enjoyed seeing the market for the first time and I was really happy to go back again. A lot has changed since I had last been, and it was fun to check out the new vendors.
After doing some last minute errands (more stocking up), we came home and I got started on dinner. Taco night!
Dinner: shredded chicken taco with guac, lettuce, cheese, salsa, and veggies, with a corn on the cob on the side
And right afterwards…
Dessert: piña colada sherbet
There you have it! It was a pretty yummy day of eats if I do say so myself.
We’re leaving bright and early in the morning for the 8-hour trek north. See you from Virginia!
Thanks for reading!

I kind of hate how I feel like I have to publish my WIAW post so early in the day before I end up being #3000 on the link up list. I’ve seriously seen some WIAW posts on Tuesday morning!! What is that about? Gah, I haven’t had a burger in years (I went through a long phase where I was immediately sick every time I ate one and finally gave them up), but they always look so.dang.good. Maybe it’s time I tried one again just to see if I can stomach it, no pun intended 😛 Have a safe trip back to Virginia!

I know how you feel, I hate that too! I’ve sort of given up now and accepted that I will probably be the millionth person to link up. I guess it’s a good thing because it means so many people are doing it now though! I love me a good burger. It’s the iffy/fast food ones that really turn me off.

I SAW THAT YOU DID–my heart leapt with joy to see what you actually ate on Wednesday :). Really.
