WIAW, Summer in the City

I am so glad that it’s Wednesday. From here on out the week is so much easier knowing that the weekend is so close! Things got busier today in the office, so our day wasn’t quite as boring as it would usually be. Of course, Wednesday also means…

One of the things I’ve been enjoying about the summer is eating lunch OUTSIDE every day! It’s been great! This has actually been a pretty mild summer in Georgia, so it’s rarely been above 90 degrees when we go out for lunch. I love going outside our building and just enjoying the fresh/car exhaust filled air of downtown. Besides just enjoying the warmth and outdoors, I enjoy knowing that once we’re done with our day in the city we are going back to a quiet, peaceful slice of suburbia. One thing this summer has taught me is that I DO NOT EVER want to LIVE inside of a city. It’s just not for me. The traffic is ridiculous, so ridiculous that I think I would become a very bitter person just from driving in it so much (and public transportation is not Atlanta’s strong suit). Also I don’t appreciate seeing sketchy people everywhere I go and fearing for my life constantly (even if those fears aren’t logical, they’re still there). I want to feel safe and cozy in a quiet non-exhaust filled place I can call home. What was I talking about that led me on this tangent?? Oh yeah, what I ate this Wednesday!

Breakfast: Oatmeal cooked in coconut milk topped with peach-blackberry crisp and some Justin’s Maple Almond Butter

Lunch (enjoyed outside! πŸ™‚ ): Salad (romaine lettuce, avacado slices, cherry tomatoes, dried cranberries and raisins, roasted turkey), baby carrots, fresh strawberries, and the rest of a bag of Pirate’s Booty

Dinner: Chili over rice and a piece of cornbread (all made by mom, YUM!)

In other news, I made stuffed crust pizza last night! It was really good, definitely one of my most successful pizzas. And the stuffed crust was so easy to do! I told Jason “Look at this, I’m making homemade stuffed crust pizza. I’m going to be the coolest mom on the block someday.” He just looked at me like I was crazy/really dorky. Guess he just doesn’t think I’m cool enough.

We’ll let our future children be the judges of that.

Thanks for reading!

Hey chica! Love the eats. I totally agree with you about the city. I love to visit but like to go home. I do love Atlanta, I have an old friend that lives there. I would love to visit him again one day.

Yum, that breakfast looks great! I’m a huge fan of putting baked goods on top my oatmeal, because really breakfast is more like dessert anyways πŸ˜› I can’t believe how much traffic there is in big cities. Such an annoyance. I don’t blame you for not wanting to live there.
