I feel badly that you all have had to see some very un-exciting posts this week while we’ve been away for this conference. In retrospect, I should have gotten a couple people to do guests posts for me! Oh well, we learn from our mistakes. I’ll get a guest poster next month when I go with my family to Disney World (yes, we’re going, I’m so excited!!!!).
So I almost thought about skipping this week’s WIAW but then I figured it would be a good change to show you guys the good, bad, and ugly of how I’ve been eating lately. Sometimes you’re just put in situations where it’s a challenge to seek out healthy food, and this whole week has certainly been on of those times. Today was actually one of the better days but still most of the things were canned/frozen and full of all sorts of ingredients I can’t pronounce, which sucks.
Breakfast (in the cafeteria): grits, biscuit, bacon, tater tots, orange “juice”, and banana
I’ve eaten this every day for breakfast for the past 4 days…a little different than fueling up with a green monster?
Morning snack (brought from home):
Lunch (at the cafeteria): Salad (THEY HAD ROMAINE TODAY!!! HIP HIP HOORAY FOR NO ICEBURG!), baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, random bowl of grapes, and juice
Had to take this photo with my iPhone that’s why it’s especially bad, haha! The cafeteria where we eat is also where the police, state troopers, firefighters, etc. in training eat too and I could not bring myself to bust out my camera and start photographing my lunch in front of them. They probably already think its weird enough that we’re there at all! 😛
Dinner: Garden Salad, Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza
We went back to Jonah’s that we visited a few days ago! The pizza is so so good.
We got half our pizza with red sauce and the other half with green sauce (pesto! yum!).
And to add insult to injury, I just had to get dessert. A lovely slice of cream cheese pound cake to go:
That’s it! That’s all I got. I know, I know, you’re tired of seeing such fresh, healthy food and reading my great recipes. I’ll try to fix that next time. 😉
Tomorrow is our last day here actually! It’s the mock jury trial, which is the culmination of the conference. We’ll be leaving to go back to Atlanta on Friday morning! Can’t wait!
Thanks for reading, especially through my week here in the country!

You don’t have to apologize, lady. You’re being honest and sometimes it’s nice to see how a real person deals with real situations. And that pound cake looks totally worth it 🙂

Thanks Lauren, you’re always so encouraging! 🙂 I know I shouldn’t be apologizing but sometimes I just feel that way! It felt good to just show what was really going on though, I try to be as honest as possible.

hey. Own up to it and enjoy it!! If that pound cake is as dense and cheesy as it looks, totally worth it!

It was indeed totally worth it! Moist and delicious! 🙂

Girl at least you have the being away from home excuse! I have been eating horribly and I am home. I like to say that sometimes life just happens.

Haha, it’s okay Helen don’t feel bad about that! I have periods of time when that happens to me at home too, it happens to everyone! At least we spend most of the time trying to eat clean, that’s more than most people can say!
