Welcome to the new blog!

I finally made it official! From now on, I’ll be blogging here at A Dash of Soul!

Why did I change my name?

I was a little short sighted in naming my blog Lawfully Wedded Wife. I was in my first year of law school and had only been married a few months, so at the time it made sense. But now that I’m no longer a newlywed and no longer a law student, I just don’t feel like the name fits my life and what I’ll be blogging about. I’m hoping that A Dash of Soul will be able to grow with me as I settle down, start a career, and eventually start a family.

I’m still using WordPress and being hosted by Bluehost but I switched to the Thesis theme, which is one that I know a lot of bloggers use and love. The old site had a lot of bugs and things I didn’t like, but Thesis allows me complete customization and control. I designed the new site myself, which took a ton of time but was well worth it! There are brand new About Me and Meet My Family pages, and I’m planning to transfer over to a new recipe plugin soon.

I hope you all like the new space and layout! And I hope you’ll stick with me. And here’s a random picture so that this isn’t just a bunch of blabbing.

Ah, I can totally relate to having a blog name that doesn’t really fit a growing blogging point of view. And speaking from experience, I feel so much more free and authentic with my new blog name/site (if only my readership had flourished as much…). So CONGRATS! This site is beautiful so far!

It’s absolutely lovely! So clean and inviting and easy to read! I must admit, I adore the name. Seriously, love.

I started back in the very end of 2007/early 2008 and if blogging had been then what it was now… I don’t know that I would have gone with A Southern Fairytale, but it fits… it works 😉 I couldn’t imagine changing now.

I absolutely love your change! Welcome to the happy side 🙂 heh

Love it! The name and the blog are super cute! I’ve considered changing my name a few times but honestly my blogging is so intermittent I’d rather wait until I know what direction I want to go in.

I know how you feel! You definitely have to do whatever’s right for you, whenever it feels right. I love your name!
