WIAW: A Little Bit Busy

I feel a little bit like a chicken with my head cut off. But the truth is that I thrive when I’m extremely busy. I have no idea why. My most productive year of my life was my senior year of college…during which I had two part-time jobs, planned a wedding, wrote and defended a thesis, took the LSAT, added a double major, moved, applied to law schools, etc. It was INSANE but I always had something to do and I liked the feeling of purpose that I had. The same holds true now! When you’re really busy you tend to value your time a lot more and make sure that you get things done when you need to. Haven’t you noticed that I’ve been posting every day?

Breakfast: bowl of maple frosted mini wheats

Eaten very quickly at 5 in the morning while I was running out the door to work at the store.

Morning Snack: banana chips, biscotti, and assorted other snacks/samples in the break room

Second Breakfast: egg sandwich

I raced back home after my morning shift at work to pick up Jason so that we could head out to our first morning class together. He knew that I hadn’t eaten a substantial meal, so he thoughtfully made me something to eat in the car. He even prepared a travel mug of some much needed coffee for me to take with us!

Lunch: spinach spaghetti with leftover meatball and marinara, baby spinach with Annie’s Woodstock dressing

Afternoon Snacks: local granny smith apple with peanut butter, peanut butter cup trax mix

Dinner: Mama Pea’s loaded baked potato soup

This was an easy and delicious meal to throw together when I got home from my night class. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I added in cashew cream (raw cashews blended with hot stock until thick and creamy) instead of milk. I highly recommend her recipe!

Tomorrow is another jam-packed day for me, including an interview with a firm that I’m hoping to extern for next semester. Good thing I’m too busy to be nervous about it.

Thanks for reading!

Question for YOU: When are you at your most productive? Do you prefer to have a lot of free time or to keep yourself busy?

Dude. I’m the exact same way. Now that I’m back home I don’t know what to do with myself. No LSAT. no campaign work. What is going on?

Good thing I’m STILL down 3 weeks in my google reader, I have tons of jobs to apply for, and I actually have things to do at work. Oh and apply to law school. Busy it is.

    PS (I’m in ATL Thurs-Monday)

Even though you were busy it looks like you had a pretty healthy day of eats. It can be really hard to eat well when you’re busy. My schedule has been really busy recently and it can be hard to eat well or to even make time to eat. But as always preparation is key.

Your lunch looks really tasty. I love pasta. And the soup looks yum as well.

I totally get the idea that the busier you are the better it is. When I am busy I swear I thrive and do things way better than when I have less to do! That trail mix looks super good also, except knowing me I would probably pick out all the candy parts and leave the rest….

I am the same way! I mean, relaxing and doing nothing is nice once in a while, but I love being busy. Even on the weekends, I love being busy. 5 AM is… early…

I feel the same way! I’m taking a gap year and am supposed to be “chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool,” but I’ve found myself maintaining a blog, writing a book, tutoring part-time, learning to cook, and improving my mental health. It feels great to always have something to do. I think the key is to make sure you’re not sacrificing your health for the sake of doing everything all the time.

I went to Trader Joe’s for the FIRST TIME EVER yesterday! I fell in love with the dark chocolate covered edamame! I will definitely have to try out the trax mix next time I go.

Yum, apples and peanut butter is one of my favorite snacks! I loved the look of that soup on Mama Pea’s blog as well. I think I’ll definitely have to make it soon.
