Dinner Tonight- 9/17

Tonight we had chicken shawarma from Cooking Light inside whole wheat pitas with romaine lettuce, tomato, and a tahini-yogurt sauce.

The only change I made to the recipe was adding some plain greek yogurt to the marinade. Yogurt makes an awesome marinade for anything grilled…you should try it! The chicken in the recipe is supposed to be grilled, but since we don’t have a grill I cut the marinated chicken into nice thin strips and put it under the broiler. I do that often as a substitute for grilling–works great!

The yogurt sauce (a mixture of greek yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic) was DELICIOUS. Definitely a keeper.

Tomorrow night is going to be crockpot dinner because we both have night classes!
