Can You Feel The Love Tonight?

***Thank you all so much for your entries in the OXO food scale giveaway from my last post! There’s still time to enter the giveaway!!! The winner will be picked tomorrow!***

I had fully planned on bringing a great muffin recipe to you guys on this bright and sunny Monday, but it appears I’m in some sort of baking funk. I just have not been having luck with quick breads lately! I did two trials of the muffins I wanted to share with you and they both turned out blaaahh. Maybe I’m still a little tired from a crazy St. Patty’s day we spent with a few of our friends.

And by a few of our friends I mean thousands of adoring Elton John fans…and the man himself!!!

This was the first “real” concert that Jason and I have been to together, and we both are HUGE fans of Elton John so it was crazy exciting to be there and hear him perform in person.

We’re ALL about the oldies, and there are very few of these legends around who are still performing–and doing it SO WELL!

He seriously sounds AMAZING!!!! His voice is still so incredible and it seriously sounded like we were listening to the actual albums that we’re always playing. Hear it for yourself! Check out this video of Elton from 1976 and then him singing the same song at the concert on Saturday (my video quality is not always awesome…my camera was zoomed in over 24x!).

I think he sounds even BETTER now than he did almost 40 years ago! πŸ˜€ He was full of energy, too! At the end of every number he got up and worked the crowd before going back to the piano. And of course he was wearing a gorgeous suit full of glitter and sequins!

If you’re a fan, below is another video with some highlights from the concert that I think you’ll enjoy! I made it for us to just have the memories, but of course I had to share it with you guys. It’s a little long but there are some exciting moments including Elton jumping off the piano and a couple of audience members doing the worm on stage! Please forgive the blurry/shaky moments and my really annoying hoarse screaming.

It was a great night. Totally surreal and awesome. Jason and I have both decided that next we need to see Paul McCartney perform and then our lives will be complete. πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading! Something that’s actually edible will be here tomorrow. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway!

Love him! How cool that you both really love the artist that you see in your first concert together!! Usually I hear about one or the other liking the artist so tickets are given as a gift. Luckily the hubster and I attended our first concert on a good note as well….we both loved the artist too πŸ™‚
