Whole 'Lotta Baking Going On

I’m afraid that I’m using my oven too much! It better hold out a little longer on me because I’ve got quite the baking session ahead of me tonight.

Can you guess from those ingredients what I’m making?? Okay I’m no good with a tease, I’m just going to tell you…

Rum cakes! They’re a holiday classic (or really a year-round classic) in my family and I’ve been giving them to Jason’s family as Christmas gifts for a few years now. Since we spent Thanksgiving with my family in Georgia, we’re spending Christmas with Jason’s family in Jersey! It’s what we did last year and that arrangement worked well for us. We’re headed to Jersey tomorrow, so tonight is the night for me to bake these tasty presents! I can’t give you the recipe because it’s one of the items my mom sells, but how about that wassail recipe I was promising?

Seriously, this drink is amazing and the perfect remedy for a freezing cold night. The secret is a clove studded orange that you bake a little before cooking inside the drink.

Cloves in the shape of a face are recommended but not required. Either way that little guy is going to take a very long bath in a crock pot full of apple cider, cranberry juice, and orange juice.

All you do is let the flavors come together in the crock pot and sit back as your house is filled with an amazing aroma.

I still have 6 more cakes left to bake, but I’m still good on energy! Must be all the awesome energy supplements that I won from a Genesis Today giveaway on Love Veggies and Yoga! The company sent me such a generous package, it’s amazing.

I got 2 bottles of thier gummy vitamins, a bag of their vitamin super chews, and 6 awesome supplement drinks. Jason and I have tried the gummy vitamins and love them!

One of the supplement drinks even supports good moods! I will definitely need that as I’m driving through traffic tomorrow on the way to New Jersey.

Well, it’s back to baking for me! The hardest part is waiting until the end of all the baking before licking the spatula. 😉

Thanks for reading!

I’ve never heard of that drink before, but it sounds delicious and like something I need to make!
