Late November VA Produce

First Larry King and now Regis???? Is anybody else sad about that? I know he’s not dying or anything, but I just can’t imagine a world wherein Regis is not the king of morning television. But apparently I have to. Next thing you know Al Roker will be retiring from weather and we’ll all be talking about Brittney Spears as “oldies”. Time sure does fly. It certainly flew this season–I can hardly believe we’re reaching the end of our first CSA season subscription! I’m sure we’ll be buying another share in the new year, but it’s still crazy that there’s only a couple more produce boxes left until 2012!

This box was full of green! And purple! Check out this gorgeous cauliflower!

This box included apple cider, salad mix, broccoli, curly kale, potatoes, and some new items! Some mini ginger root:

White sweet potatoes (I still have the purple ones from the last box!):

Radishes Correction: TURNIPS (never had them before!):

And we’ve gotten kale before, but they literally gave me a MOUNTAIN of it this time! Must be abundant on the farm.

No idea how we’re going to eat this much kale–but I’m grateful for it!

We’re going down to Atlanta next week for Thanksgiving, so basically…we need to find a way to eat this stuff in about 5 days. I’m not complaining, I just need to find ways to cook it all! 🙂

One thing I’m grateful for this Thanksgiving is all of the beautiful and powerful foods that God has put here for us. I’ve never appreciated natural foods and where they come from more than I do now after being blessed to be a part of CSA. Sorry if you’re tired of hearing me gush about vegetables, but I can assure you I won’t be stopping any time soon. Just LOOK at that cauliflower!

Thanks for reading!

… I think those ‘radishes’ might be turnips?

BAHAHA! You’re right! They told me they were turnips but for some reason my brain typed radishes. 😛 Thanks!
