Nutella Swirl Chocolate Chip Cookies

First thing’s first…welcome to the new home of the blog at lawfullyweddedwife.com! I figured it was about time I got my own domain name and moved to self-hosting. Now I’m free to do whatever I want with the page…like finally install a comment reply notification system and a “print this” tool for recipes! I really love this space and hope to watch it grow and improve over time, and I felt like moving to my own site is part of that. With Jason’s help I was actually able to do it without hiring a professional, which is great! To celebrate the move, and to provide a much needed sweet treat around our house, I made a fun variation of my new favorite chocolate chip recipe–with NUTELLA!

Whenever I taste a dessert with chocolate, I always think to myself that it would be even BETTER with Nutella. Everything is. I found out today while googling some ideas that World Nutella Day is on my birthday! That proves that our love affair was meant to be. To make a “swirled” effect in the cookies, I folded the Nutella into the dough last and only mixed it slightly.

In just 10 minutes they bake up perfectly and are ready for you to burn your mouth on eat!

Nutella Swirl Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 4 T. butter, softened
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 2 t. vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. baking powder
  • 1/4 t. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. white whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c. unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 c. Nutella

-In a medium sized mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars together with an electric mixer.

-Mix in the vanilla, egg, vinegar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until well combined.

-Add in the flour and mix just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spoon or spatula, and then fold in the Nutella gently.

-Drop cookie dough by the tablespoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes (the edges of the cookie should be golden brown).

-Remove the cookies from the oven, let them cool a few minutes on the pan, and then remove them to a cooling rack to cool for another few minutes. Serve and enjoy! Makes 20 deliciously soft and Nutella flavored cookies.

I’ve already had three but I’m trying to control myself. I’ll save more for dessert after my night class tonight. In the words of the potato chip people, I bet you can’t eat just one.

It might take us a day or so to get any kinks worked out in the transfer to the new site, but it should be all smoothed out by tomorrow. As always, thanks for reading and I look forward to many more posts and happy memories on this site in the future! šŸ™‚

Congrats on the new domain! For some reason I’ve never tried Nutella. Everyone says it’s so good and addicting, I think it’s better if I don’t even give it a try. šŸ™‚

Gahhh, so jealous that you’re self hosted! I had a friend in HS who loved nutella and introduced me to it. Great stuff and probably perfect in cookies!

delicious looking cookies. I am bookmarking a few recipes with nutella in them and I am bookmarking these.

thanks for sharing the recipe. I like that it is sort of healthier with the use of whole wheat flour.
