WIAW, On the Road

It was a pretty long stretch on the road but we finally made it to Orlando! For most of the ride everyone was completely passed out, and the rest looked like this:

That is Jason holding an American Girl doll, in case you were wondering. Ashley said that her doll really likes Jason, so he had to take care of her.

Since today is What I Ate Wednesday, I’ll give you the story of our day through what we ate!

Breakfast: didn’t occur…no further comment, besides that I learned how grumpy skipping breakfast makes me

Lunch: We stopped at a restaurant that my family loves, Cheddar’s Casual Café. I had a nice cold glass of water and a Napa Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich with a side of sweet baby carrots.

A glimpse at what the family ate:

We arrived to beautiful weather in Orlando.

And checked into our hotel first thing. Jason and I have our own suite, which is really roomy and awesome.

And look at these AWESOME bath products!

One bed to sleep in and one bed for my junk. 😉 Plus a great view–we’re right next to the pool.

Complimentary drinks and snacks at the hotel happy hour? Yes, please.

Snack: cheese and crackers, ice cold Bud, and some live entertainment on the side

This was when it really started to feel like vacation.

Then we headed out to explore downtown Disney

before going to our dinner reservations at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

We walked the grounds while waiting for our table and everything was so beautiful. The inside of the lodge wasn’t too shabby either!

We had heard that the food in their restaurant was really good, but it turned out to be overpriced and extremely mediocre quality.

Dinner: smoked trout lettuce wraps and pulled pork spring rolls with pomegranate lemonade to drink (Jason and I shared because the prices were so ridiculous)

I wish this lemonade tasted as good as it looked. It was disgusting, full of artificial sugar and left a terrible aftertaste.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Really. But despite a less-than-stellar dinner, we still had an awesome time at the Lodge. I mean, how could you not have a great time when you have Tinkerbell sitting on your juice cup?

Especially when you get to take her home.

Tomorrow we’re doing Magic Kingdom all day long! I can’t wait.

Thanks for reading!

I hope you have a great time! 🙂

I really don’t think I can read your vacation posts or you’ll have me booking a trip to Disney by the end of the week! Such a bummer about dinner 🙁 but I’m sure Disney World will redeem itself. Have so much fun, Lauren!
