Family Fun

Every year one of my dad’s employers holds a Family Day for people to bring their families and enjoy a day of fun courtesy of the company. We’ve been going to them for several years now, here’s a picture of a younger Ashley at one a few years ago:

Aaaahhh look at all that cute baby fat she still had on her cheeks! Too cute.

This year the party was at Six Flags over Georgia! My mom stayed home because amusement parks are really not her thing, but the rest of us all went (minus David, he’s still at Navy camp). We started off in the morning eating with the rest of the employees and watching the raffle. My dad won a sweet gift card!

Then it was time to hit the rides. This was Ashley’s first visit to a real amusement park so she had a lot of fun. Just imagine the fun she’ll have when we go to Disney in a few weeks!

Dad won Ashley a stuffed animal by winning one of those arcade games.

We went on this awesome water ride in which Jason and my dad got DRENCHED but Ashley and I managed to escape unscathed.

And while my dad and Jason went to ride a roller coaster, Ash and I hit the bumper cars and enjoyed some yummy Dippin’ Dots.

But I think Ashley’s absolute favorite was the carousel ride. The carousel was actually quite beautiful, it’s handcarved and was built in 1908. The carousel is actually the landmark that the entire park was built around. Pretty awesome! Al Capone even rode on this very carousel once!

Overall it was just an awesome day! There’s nothing like relaxing and having fun with family all day.

It was like a mini vacation. Definitely beats work.

Thanks for reading!

Awww, this post is too sweet 🙂 I think it’s so great that you spend so much time with Ashley. Every young girl needs a good role model and you seem like an excellent one! That Dippin’ Dots picture is great — so bright! I’m SO jealous you’re going to Disney!!! World or land? I’m a Disneyland FANATIC!
