Decatur Arts Festival & Sushi Avenue

Has anyone missed me?! I haven’t been around daily like I usually am! I won’t apologize again because it’s just the way things are night now! But I do hope to sort things out so that I can post more frequently, and at an earlier time of day!

Today Jason and I went to the Decatur Arts Festival in downtown Decatur. I need to start like putting a map of the Atlanta area up every time I talk about a different neighborhood because we really go all over the place! Anyways, Decatur is only about 15 minutes away from our house and it’s right next to where I went to junior high and elementary school. It’s a cute, fun, and kind of funky town with a lot of great restaurants and shops in walking distance downtown.

Lots of awesome vendors and beautiful artwork! We’re so glad it’s the weekend so that we can do this kind of thing.

I had PLANNED on going to this food truck, Roxie’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese, that’s competing in the Great Food Truck Race (the show on Food Network hosted by Tyler Florence) but turns out I had the wrong day!!! 🙁 She’s going to be there tomorrow. We just may end up going back tomorrow just to see her!

So since the food truck was a no-go, we decided to go to somewhere in the area for lunch.

We both ordered the sushi lunch special, which was a great deal–only $7.50! It came with a side salad and miso soup, too! The miso soup was incredible, maybe the best I’ve ever had.

And I got some edamame on the side! I love it, Jason doesn’t, so I get it all for myself.

I inhaled this bowl in like 3 minutes!

And then our beautiful sushi came out!

This sushi was AMAZING! It was so fresh and the quality of the fish was awesome. I loved everything on my plate.

And Jason loved his, too! There was nothing not to love.

So we’ll see about tomorrow, I may have to return to the festival to catch that food truck!

Thanks for reading!

I love art festivals! Even if everything is usually out of my price range it’s still fun to look. A grilled cheese food truck?! That almost sounds too good to be true. I would go tomorrow if I were you 🙂 But sushi sounds equally good.

P.S. Don’t feel guilty for not posting every single day and at a certain time. In my experience, loyal readers will always read your posts even if posting is a little sporadic. Living life > blogging out it.

I love them too! I really never buy anything but it’s awesome to see the artwork! Thanks so much for the encouragement, I know I shouldn’t feel guilty about not posting daily but sometimes I do!

I went to the Decatur arts festival too. And I have a husband named Jason who doesn’t like edamame!
